I've been spending a lot of time with my mum and sister recently. It's weird because we don't go shopping with each other very often. I have to admit, I love going out with them. Yesterday, we went to Chinatown to buy some decorations to spruce up the house for Chinese New Year. It was really pleasant and I had a good time talking and laughing with them. These trips might seem insignificant to others, but it's a huge deal to me.

Some things have happened recently and I've been feeling rather down. I don't know why, but, I don't feel so affected when I'm with my family. Their presence gives me comfort, I guess.

I'm grateful that I have my mum and sister to rely on because I feel like I can't depend on anyone else. Not anymore.

How is it possible for someone to not have regrets? Let's say you have the ability to turn back time and you did something wrong, something that cost you to lose something or someone near and dear to you - would you go back to the past and change everything?

I know I would. In fact, I don't know anyone who wouldn't.

So, no - I don't believe any quote that suggests that there are no regrets in life.

If I could rewind the clock, I wouldn't treat my closest friend badly, I wouldn't talk behind my friend's back. In fact, I would just shut up and bottle everything up - all the anger, disappointment and sadness. If keeping everything to myself helps maintain our friendship, I would do just that.

But it's all too late now, isn't it?

I can't help but think about how blissful and happy my life - our lives - would be if I didn't do any of the stupid things aforementioned.

The 10 day trip to Chiang Mai was great. It broadened my perspective and made me appreciate life more. I wish it lasted longer - 10 days is simply not enough.

The things we have, they lack. I'm amazed at how the kids managed to keep themselves entertained without technology - something that we think is essential and take for granted. Even without proper facilities (shower heads and water heaters), they're still so, happy. I truly feel blessed to be living in Singapore, where everything's provided and easily available.

I'm going to miss the cold mornings, warm soup dishes, the children and their smiles.

A couple of weeks ago, I saw my brother watching a cartoon series on YouTube. And that cartoon series was Samurai Jack!

Gosh! It brought back so many memories! Flashbacks of old cartoon series and shows started popping up in my mind. I remember watching Rugrats, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (not a big fan), Hey Arnold!, Courage the Cowardly Dog, The Wild Thornberrys, SWAT Kats, The Animaniacs, All That, Kenan and Kel (one of my favourite shows! Hilarious episodes!) and sooooooo many more. I can go on, but the list will never end.

I honestly think that the number of interesting and entertaining cartoon series being produced is decreasing. Or maybe, as I grow older, I don't find animated characters with high-pitched voices appealing anymore. Lol. That must be it.

I did have a favourite cartoon series though. I was obsessed with...

The Addams Family!

The theme song was extremely catchy with snapping, and lyrics sung by a man with a deep, mysterious voice.

My favourite character was Morticia Addams. I loved her jet-black locks, crimson red lips, the dark eyeshadow covering her lids and HER DRESS.

THAT DRESS is the most gorgeous thing about Morticia Addams. In my opinion, at least.

I like the butterfly-like sleeves and the fact that her dress is tapered so tightly at the legs. It's so sexy and flattering! Beautiful silhouette! The bottom part of the dress reminds me of the roots of a tree. Which is a good thing...?

The only character I kind of disliked was Cousin Itt (yes, it's spelled with two t's). I can't find a picture of the cartoon version of Cousin Itt, but if you pause the video at 0:28, he's that brown thing with round glasses and a hat, "standing" on the left.

He's like an overly hairy dwarf or a large walking wig! And he doesn't speak. He makes random noises. Squeaking? I have no idea how to describe the way he communicates.

Sigh...

If it weren't for cartoon shows and the television, my adolescent years wouldn't be much of an enjoyment.

If you honestly think that I cannot be bothered to listen to your sob stories, why did you even initiate a conversation with me? Don't talk to me, go confide in someone else.

Just because I reply to your text messages a couple of minutes late, you jump to the ludicrous conclusion that I can't be bothered to send you a reply or comfort you. Has it ever occurred to you that I'm occupied with something at the moment? What the fuck is wrong with you?

I've tried tolerating your nonsensical antics and stupid bullshit because I'm your friend. And your senior. I'm not the best confidant in the world, but I'm willing to ease your burden by being a listening ear. I'm not the best person to seek advice from, that's why you should refrain from asking me about what you should do. I can contribute in the form of being a pillar of support and giving you my opinion on things, but that's all I can do.

I'm sorry if you feel hurt or you're crushed after reading this. But, I'm on the brink of terminating this friendship and I need to let all the anger and bitterness I've bottled up, out.

Hopefully, we'll remain as friends and there'll be no animosity and hostility between us.

I miss working at Universal Studios.

Sure, I complain about being baked in the heat when I'm scheduled to operate the cart, but man, I really miss those days. And the money - not much, but, it's enough for my expenses!

I have to admit, I'm the worst employee in the store. LOL. I'm reluctant to greet customers and shit. I only do so when my managers start reminding me to. Service is not my thing. I don't have the patience and passion for it.

But, I miss assisting customers. Yes. Even the demanding ones (they're like a challenge). I feel satisfied when a customer thanks me sincerely. I wonder if I'm ever returning back to the theme park.

Are the days of helping lost and confused visitors find their way to the nearest washroom, gone?

Some people change for the better, others become worse.

Overtime, our perception of certain people change from being positive, to something negative. You may love the people who are close to you, but, as the days go by, you begin to feel annoyed. It won't be long until hatred starts building up in your heart.

You can't eat, sleep or do anything right because you're unsure of what you're feeling. Are you betraying the ones you love because you despise them? Slowly, you start losing yourself and your mind, shutting yourself off, changing yourself.

The confidant is losing interest in listening to your problems.

Hello, 2011!

I know it's a little too late. LOL.

April will mark the end of my first year in ITE. I can't wait to see what the second year of school has in store for me. More work, electives and a final attachment!

So... For the year 2011, I have tons of resolutions. But, the most important one is to eat healthy. I absolutely HATE eating fruits and vegetables and I consume A LOT of junk food. I don't mind having fast food for all my three meals everyday! Sick, I know. That's why I'm going to adhere to this resolution.

I've been consuming fruits for the past few weeks after lunch. Fruits aren't THAT bad. :-) Have yet to swallow some greens, though. I'll do it some day! Just not today. Or tomorrow. Or anytime soon. But, I'll definitely do it.

Went for Brendon's barbecue party yesterday. Lots of food, caught up with the guys, Hui Hui, Grace and Florence. It was really nice! I really wasn't expecting to have fun. Was kind of hesitant about going too. Well, expect the unexpected, I guess!

I know I haven't been updating.

School's good. Well, several things have happened, but it's not bad enough to make me want to kill myself or hide. Work's the same too. Nothing much has changed. I'm kind of sick of life. The same things happen everyday.

Stagnant would be the perfect word to describe my life now.

Anyway, I can't believe 2010 is coming to an end. This year has been rather fruitful and enjoyable. Gained a couple of new experiences which have broadened my perspective and I made new friends who have my complete trust.

I'll be brutally honest. I didn't think I would enjoy school. I thought I would have trouble fitting in because everyone's so outspoken and extroverted. I am an awkward and quiet person. I'm just glad I managed to make friends who are willing to put up with my bad jokes and listen to me obsessing over Chris Colfer. I really appreciate my friends.

Wow. This post is getting kind of sappy. LOL.

The attachment was great! I enjoyed it, which is surprising. There were a couple of things that I wish didn't happen. But, you know what they say, "Things happen for a reason".

I can't wait to go back in December. More work to do = More fun...?

The people there are so friendly. I will never forget the first day. Everyone was so warm and inviting. I have never felt so comfortable in a new environment.

UNPLEASANT.

It was hot/humid/scorching/burning. I'm fried/overcooked/burnt.

I wanted to post a random fact about myself, but, I personally think it's a little disgusting. So, I'm just going to post another one instead. To start off small. :-)

Number one: My friends' first impressions of me are - arrogant/snobbish/anti-social/quiet/proud/insincere (the list goes on and on with more negative descriptions).

Why do I give off such an aura/vibe?!

I smile. ALL THE TIME.

And if you know me well, you would know that I DO HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOUR. Okay. Maybe my jokes are not hilarious to you, but, my sense of humour is not THAT bad. And, you would also know that I laugh/smile/giggle/chuckle/(insert more positive words) every minute. Also, I do feel happy most of the time.

Underneath this cold, hard exterior, is a person who enjoys laughter and has an ample amount of enthusiasm (I was going to write, "and has lots of enthusiasm". I would have written that like, 5 years ago. The level of excitement in my life is decreasing year by year).

I barely have time to use the computer. I feel so detached from the world - haven't been updating myself with news of the world via the web.

I wouldn't say that school's overwhelming. I'm just exhausted. School on weekdays, work on Sunday. I fall asleep as soon as I reach home after school. I'm too burned out to even take a shower before hitting the hay.

Went out with Kelly and Eka last Saturday. We were supposed to go to some flea market at Central - that was the plan. But, Kelly, the blur block, had no idea where it was located at. Hahahaha. So, we went for lunch instead. Then, we proceeded to VivoCity for a heart to heart talk! :-D

School's okay. :-) Surprisingly. I'm having second thoughts about taking up Visual Merchandising though. I mean, I have NO - and I mean NO - artistic talent. At all. Sure, I doodle. But, that's it.

I like the idea that Visual Merchandising is affiliated with fashion, but, the drawing part is really bringing me down. Even though we have not started on drawing/sketching yet, I predict that my work's going to look like shit.

Had dinner at Sakura with the casuals. Spent time bitching about people. Hahaha. ;-)

Attended the class barbecue last Saturday. Stuffed my face with greasy chicken wings and slightly charred franks. Heh. It was nice to see the class and catch up. :-) It made me feel all, warm and fuzzy inside. As cliche as that sounds.

So, Xue Ting and I attended another Christmas party. It was, good. LOL. Talked, and stuff. Heh. Nothing much happened.

The Christmas party yesterday was awesome! Had a blast! Good food, good friends - it was just, great! Talked and gossiped a lot! All of us could finally meet up and update each other. :-D It was nice.

Training's tough. I cannot wait to start working, though. All the communication and interaction. :-D

Attended the Resorts World interview in school today. It went pretty well. :-D I've mentioned this on Twitter.

Training will begin on the 14th of December. I cannot wait!

I feel kind of excited, with a tinge of anxiety. I'm depressed as well. I'm unable to attend Youth Camp. Booooo ~ Training ends on the 28th of December. I think. Youth Camp's from the 18th to the 21st. :-(

I'm back from camp!

It was pretty awesome. Everything was well-organized.

Stayed for only one night. Was too lazy to participate in the water activities. Hahaha.

Am so worn out. Barely slept yesterday night. A plane would take off every thirty minutes or so. It was pretty intimidating. Like, the planes looked so huge and they were sooooo loud. LOL. It was as if the giant mechanical birds were within your reach.

Might be attending Youth Camp. :-D

I got to know my dreaded foe - Algebra - a little better, thanks to Florence and Alvin.

They are extremely patient. LOL. Really. Anybody who teaches me can just die, due to the minimal storage capacity in my brain and short attention span. They guided me throughout the whole study session, penning down every single step and answer, clarifying all my doubts.

We stayed till three. Florence and I got bored towards the end, so, we took photos. Hahahaha. I needed to post photos anyway. This thing's getting way too wordy.

Today was long.

Like, really long.

Am starting to get sick of school. :- | I mean, how can anyone not get sick of school after 5 years? Don't get me started on the shitload of tests we have to sit for.

Anyway, had a Math paper yesterday. I'm feeling pretty confident about it. :-D Was a little depressed, beat and all that for the first half of the paper. But, things started to get better, so I put in every ounce of effort in completing that damn paper.

I'm so glad the Math mock exam is over.
